  6. This is a team of programs to help you maintain your cookie database:
  7.  
  8.     "CookieTool" itself eliminates duplicate entries, sorts 
  9.         alphabetically if you wish.
  10.     "CdbSplit" extracts parts to a seperate file, by keyword, by size, 
  11.         as groups of 'similar' cookies, or a fixed number.
  12.  
  13. These tools are intended for users of "Cookie", "IntuiCookie" (both 
  14. available on Aminet, util/misc/), or generally for any plain text cookie 
  15. database with entries separated by "%%" lines.  They are nice for 
  16. crunching your cookie collection by a few KByte, but also for splitting
  17. it into seperate files of e.g. poems, quotations, anecdotes and miscel-
  18. laneous.

  20. Note that "CookieTool" and "CdbSplit" know how to handle the database
  21. itself, but not the corresponding index file (also called 'hash file'). 
  22. That means you still need "cookhash" (which should be included with your
  23. cookie display program).

  25. New since V2.0:
  26.     Fixed a horrible bug that would overwrite an input file even when
  27.     the new file was incomplete due to "Disk Full". %-(
  28.  
  29. New since V1.3:
  30.     Much easier to use (and a little safer, I think), but quite different,
  31.     too.  Make sure you read the docs when upgrading from V1.x!
  32.     More sort options, can delete 'abbreviations', can extract groups of 
  33.     'similar' cookies, sorting and deleting now always in *one* pass.
  34.     When choosing among 'almost identical' cookies, those towards the 
  35.     top of the input file will survive.  (Was left to chance in earlier
  36.     versions.)
